Two Basic Truths That Are Real

In the Universe, there is one eternal truth:
“Your spirit is of God.”

The one secular truth for our age:
“Carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas.”

Denial of the First Truth puts your soul in jeopardy — of the second, the lives of our descendants.

“There is peace even in the storm.”

Spirituality 101: Adam and Eve & the Original Sin

If one takes the Genesis story of creation literally, I have a few questions:

Why are there two different Creation stories in Genesis? If one allows for symbolism, then this and other seeming conflicts are not a problem. However, literalism creates unnecessary discrepancies that minimize the true import of the messages of the Bible.

Also, when Adam accepted the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, did he not recognize it? If not, why not?

When God brought woman unto man, it was said, “therefore shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave unto his wife”. Does this not imply prescience that sexual reproduction would manifest?

If God told Adam and Eve to be fruitful and multiply, did this not, also, indicate that sexual procreation would be forthcoming?

I’m not saying that sex is the original sin. The so called ‘original sin’ is the freely (and naively???) choosing mortality over immortality. Choosing to leave the Etheric Plane of existence and to enter the Physical Plane, hence the ‘so-called’ Fall of Man.

Thus, was not the first act of free will in the eating of the forbidden fruit of Knowledge of Good and Evil destined so that we could subsequently, in the latter days, come to accept and be able to freely choose the eternal life offered thru Christ (that of the Tree of Life).

God is all knowing. He would’ve known the likely end of the story at its conception.

‘Us vs Them’ Blind Tribal Partisanship in America Today and Tomorrow

People of different groupings will likely always need something to argue about. It’s the ancient “us vs them” quagmire. Whether it be sex, religion or the politics surrounding the greenhouse effect and immigration, partisan politics at the many different levels (family, community, nation state or international) has been and probably always will be part of the human condition at our species’ current developmental level. Only when we evolve well beyond this level of thinking may there be any chance of settling our differences in a more rational way.

For example, the argument over global warming and how to deal with it is delaying the very action that will be needed to assure our species’ survival. Evolution will be the final arbitrator, and the survivors will need to be “arguably” more cooperative and socially adept in order to survive beyond a more primitive level than we are now used to.

Note: Politics is war in slow motion. Hence, the “you’re either for us or against us” partisan rallying cry (even when both sides are wrong).

Before the Kyoto Agreement was signed, the percentage of Democrats and Republicans who believed in global warming was the same. Indeed, it was the Republicans who initially pushed for the carbon tax. But, after the Kyoto Agreement, the oil corporations took a page out of the book that the tobacco industries had used to fight government regulation and now anti-environmentalism has become their tribal warfare rallying cry. Meanwhile, the Democrats have latched onto immigration as their rallying point, which is equally foolish because climate change will send hordes of climate refugees our way. This may prove to be ironic justice, since our industrial and related activities fueled the global warming that will have destroyed their environs. At that point though, it’ll be moot because it’ll have become a deadly fight for survival. We’ll wind up needing the Republicans’ wall because of the situation that they did the most to foster.

P.S.- Genesis 1:28 states,
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
King James Version (KJV)

God did not say to abuse and pollute the planet and drive all things towards extinction.

History of War on Greenhouse Effect

Republicans, Democrats and Independents were all evenly divided over whether or not the Greenhouse Effect was real or not until after the Kyoto Agreement was signed. Thereafter, the Republican Party fell into league with our government subsidized corporate oil industry. Thus began the organized ‘disinformation’ campaign that continues to this day.
