Global Warming and the Unsinkable Titanic

I had a dream that was actually more of a nightmare. In it, I had composed a short YouTube video that clearly demonstrates the physical and quantum science of the greenhouse effect. Added to it is a 3-paragraph descriptor of the video’s narrative. When I try to upload it, the “system” keeps rejecting it.

Then the dream started over, and over, until I woke up shaken — realizing that people have been delivering this and related messages for many years.

The future will unfold in a very predictable way because mankind’s miscreations have a certain momentum and misdirection of their own. It’s a bit like the Titanic plowing full steam ahead through iceberg laden waters despite the fact that all other ships in the area had come to a full stop because of the warnings that even the Titanic had received. When the iceberg is spotted, it’s already too late.  The momentum was too great to avoid the collision. The maxim “too big to fail” proved deadly.

Note: My best friend’s grandfather was on a Norwegian fishing boat in those same waters, and they’d come to a halt when it got too dark to see. After they learned of the tragedy, all they could do was shake their heads and wonder.

Ironically, the increase in the melting of ice in Greenland has caused an uptick in the number of icebergs being calved and released into the same area where the Titanic went down. It’s forcing shipping companies to now take a day longer going between Europe and the USA.

We’re all in the same boat together.
