‘Us vs Them’ Blind Tribal Partisanship in America Today and Tomorrow

People of different groupings will likely always need something to argue about. It’s the ancient “us vs them” quagmire. Whether it be sex, religion or the politics surrounding the greenhouse effect and immigration, partisan politics at the many different levels (family, community, nation state or international) has been and probably always will be part of the human condition at our species’ current developmental level. Only when we evolve well beyond this level of thinking may there be any chance of settling our differences in a more rational way.
Humor:

For example, the argument over global warming and how to deal with it is delaying the very action that will be needed to assure our species’ progress. Evolution will be the final arbitrator, and the winners will need to be “arguably” more cooperative and socially adept.

Note: Politics is war in slow motion. Hence, the “you’re either for us or against us” partisan rallying cry (even when both sides are wrong).

Before the Kyoto Agreement was signed, the percentage of Democrats and Republicans who believed in global warming was the same. Indeed, it was the Republicans who initially pushed for the carbon tax. But, after the Kyoto Agreement, the oil corporations took a page out of the book that the tobacco industries had used to fight government regulation and now anti-environmentalism has become their tribal warfare rallying cry. Meanwhile, the Democrats have latched onto immigration as their rallying point, which is equally foolish because climate change will send hordes of climate refugees our way. This may prove to be ironic justice, since our industrial and related activities fueled the global warming that will have destroyed their environs. At that point though, it’ll be moot. We’ll wind up needing the Republicans’ wall because of the situation that they did the most to foster.

P.S.- Genesis 1:28 states,
“And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.”
King James Version (KJV)

God did not say to abuse and pollute the planet and drive all things towards extinction.
