"Every year hundreds of Iranian girls under the age of ten are forced to
marry even though it’s illegal. There is a mounting online
international campaign in opposition to legislation pending in the
Iranian parliament. This legislation would make it legal for girls
between the ages of 9 and 13 to be married off by their parents without
the consent of a court. This petition urges UN Secretary General Ban
Ki-Moon, who is working to end the practice of child marriage, to
publicly oppose the proposed Iranian law."
Comment: If this bit of legislation passes in Iran, it shows how backwards they really are.
"Fundamentalism means never having to open your mind".
