Spirit, Soul and Purification
The Spirit is the innermost Self that is of God. The Spirit is the Life Force. Without Spirit, the body is dead.
Bible writers used the Hebrew word ruʹach or the Greek word pneuʹma when writing about the “spirit.” The Scriptures themselves indicate the meaning of those words. For instance, Psalm 104:29 states: “If you [Jehovah] take away their spirit [ruʹach], they die and return to the dust.” And James 2:26 notes that “the body without spirit [pneuʹma] is dead.” In these verses, then, “spirit” refers to that which gives life to a body. Without spirit, the body is dead. Therefore, in the Bible the word ruʹach is translated not only as “spirit” but also as “force,” or life-force.
The Soul is the connection between Spirit and the person’s mental, emotional, physical body thru which the Life Force flows. It possesses the memories of past life experiences and the characteristics which imbue the individual with personality.
As life’s lessons are learned, the soul evolves and is transmuted and transformed such that some rarified and purified elements become virtuous enough to pass thru the Crystal Cord and become one with the Spirit.
Virtues are divine qualities and help define Spirituality. The soul possesses the memories (mental, emotional and physical) of past and present lives of our human existences, our weaknesses. As we go thru our daily lives, these problematic flawed characteristics rise to the level of our awareness as though they were bubbles in a cauldron. It behooves us to not react to them (don’t put e•motion into them), but instead passively and dispassionately simply be aware of them while neither condemning nor condoning them. Simply ‘be aware’, not beware (which induces fear, resistance).
Allow yourself to be aware of where in your body and the ‘what and how’ you actually feel as these memories try to re-manifest themselves into existence as problems to be solved ‘once and for all’. By not vesting physical, emotional and mental resources into them, you allow the light from your inner self to gradually transform and transmute them. And as you become more aware of your misconceptions, negativities and irrationalities, you can bathe them in the Violet Fire for enhanced purification.

Google and YouTube Algorithms: Radicalizing You and Me
“The Artificial Intelligence (AI) of today is invisible to most of us, yet ubiquitous. One example we interact with frequently is recommendation engines on the internet -- the code recommending your next video on YouTube or a post on Facebook. These algorithms pull together vast amounts of our personal data to learn about us and curate our experience online. In this case, AI is simply your personal data mixed with the data of people with similar interests -- and then pointed back at you.
The result can be serendipitous and delightful. It can also be dangerous. Last year, Silicon Valley moguls opened up to New York Magazine about how today's social media is designed to addict users. Using our data to manipulate us to stay on a site may or may not be pernicious in its own right.
But even if you don't worry about it for yourself, there is growing evidence that these systems tend to radicalize and polarize. Last year, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill researcher Zeynep Tufekci dubbed YouTube "the Great Radicalizer": view one anti-vaccination video, and YouTube will suggest a second; watch one factually incorrect political video, and YouTube will recommend a sequel.
Further, these algorithms can be gamed by humans to sow even more discord. Data for Democracy researcher and Mozilla fellow Renee DiResta uncovered how anti-vaccine activists exploit Google's algorithm to spread dangerous disinformation. How? By publishing reams of misleading articles peppered with popular keywords and search terms. She also recently testified before Congress about how Russian operatives manipulated Facebook's AI to influence American voters by posing as American news outlets and American voters...”

The brutal suppression of Tibet had already demonstrated Communist China’s ill will towards their fellow mankind, rather like Russia’s bellicosity. And, now, America has elected a would be tyrant who nakedly admires brutal strongmen and ogres.

China Is Changing
China is internally becoming more hostile and unfriendly to both foreign residents and companies. Lots of news is available about the business angle, but little is being said about the lives of individuals (especially foreigners who have lived there for many years). Rising nationalism and long term Chinese strategy is both covertly and overtly forcing these people out of China.
When American companies first started moving to China, I remember thinking to myself that they’d be in danger of being nationalized. Now, it seems, that the strategy is much more brilliant in its simplicity than that — just gradually take away the benefits and desirability of doing business and living in China, and renew fewer visas.
Given the history of China and the suffering imposed upon them by foreign imperialism, this is not much a surprise. Our businesses got rich from the enticements and cheap labor offered them. Now, the enticements are being withdrawn and national wages are gradually increasing. The Chinese are coming of age, and they are going to flex their muscles.
For now, tourists to China and short term residency there will not feel the brunt of China’s changing attitude. But, that is changing, also. Use search parameter ‘why foreigners leaving China’ and on the internet and on YouTube.

The Shutdown, The Wall and Global Warming
Perhaps the stalemate in D.C. could be broken if we gave Trump the money to build The Wall (we’ll need it to slow the massive flow of climate change refugees in the future due to our current dithering about regarding global warming) on the condition that we, also, implement a carbon tax that could only be used to combat global warming. Of course, the politicians would find ways to divert much of the money to benefit their special interest groups; but, if we’re going to go bankrupt anyway, we should at least try to do the right thing now rather than later.

The Elderly, Conservatives Shared Most Fake News
“People over 65 and ultra conservatives shared about seven times more fake information masquerading as news on social media than younger adults, moderates and super liberals during the 2016 election season, a new study finds.”
“When other demographic factors and overall posting tendencies are factored in, the average person older than 65 shared seven times more false information than those between 18 and 29. The seniors shared more than twice as many fake stories as people between 45 and 64 and more than three times that of people in the 30- to 44-year-old range...”

Global Warming: Physical Defense Mechanisms And Their Psychological Counterparts
Even the most staunch of global warming deniers actually know in their heart-of-hearts that the greenhouse effect is real; but, the ‘fear factor’ triggers an instinctive defensive reaction in their psyche. Global warming — You can’t run from it; you can’t hide from it, but one can deny it.
Consider, in nature, if a typical creature is in danger, the first best option is to take flight. If that fails, then hiding is the next option. The last option when cornered is to fight (or play possum).
However, in the case of global warming, the options are fight (against further carbon emissions), flight (to cooler climes), or hide ‘aka’ deny the danger. As a ‘Homo sapiens’, I prefer to fight for my species’ survival and that of all life on Earth.
Meanwhile, we should not burden ourselves trying to change the deniers’ minds. The increasing effects of global warming will do that, except for those who are so emotionally invested in their ideological belief systems that such change is not likely.
Intelligence and adaptability in the face of increasing climate change is the way towards survival.

The total of this absorbed energy causes thermal heating that is gradually re-emitted in the form of infrared energy.
