Crash Course in Atmospheric Physics

(8 videos / @ ten minute average)
In this series:
- Introduction to the atmosphere
- Radiation concepts
- Air parcels
- Stability in the atmosphere
- Thermal concepts and the first law of thermodynamics
- Absorption and emission spectra
- The stratospheric polar vortex
- Global warming
- Geoengineering

Note: In video #3, an incorrect statement is made indicating that atmospheric nitrogen N2 and oxygen O2 absorb heat. Video #4 is made to specifically correct that. It is the larger gaseous molecules that absorb IR heat. Those are the greenhouse gases:
  • Water vapor (H2O)
* Carbon dioxide (CO)
* Methane (CH)
* Nitrous oxide (N2O)
* Ozone (O3)
* Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)
* Hydrofluorocarbons (HCFCs and HFCs)
